A concerned citizen from Monkey bay in Mangochi speaking through an audio clip, has expressed his deep concern over government’s promise to confiscate property and money deposited in foreign banks by MCP government ministers.
The citizen said during campaign trails, DPP leaders have been promising Malawians that soon after taking over government on the 16th September, 2025 money which is in foreign banks will be taken back into the country for service deliveries.
He said three months in government, the DPP led government of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is quiet yet government hospitals are running without essential drugs and patients are being sent back home for no treatment a development which is worrisome.
The citizen said Malawians heard reports that over K3.4 trillion was looted by the MCP government in just three months to the 16th September, 2025 general elections asking the DPP led government why it has decided to keep quiet on this.
He said it is not secret at all that MCP ministers, President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, his family, friends and relatives have stolen a lot from Malawians taxes, the country has been destroyed and the DPP is rebuilding it from destruction.
The citizen said this could be the good time to hold President Chakwera, his family members, relatives and ministers accountable through the courts to pay back what they stole from Malawians so that the money paid back be used to subsidize prices of essential goods for the poor people to afford.
He said the economic situation for the country is very bad saying government was supposed to prioritize on cases of MCP thieves, and looters to pay back what they stole in government but what is happening is totally different from what Malawians were expecting from the DPP.
The citizen has claimed that the DPP led government is afraid of arresting President Chakwera and his ministers for looting public resources because it is afraid that tomorrow, they will dance to the same music by the MCP.
He said organizations such as the Malawi human Rights Commission (MHRC) and Public Affairs Committee (PAC) which were supposed to work hand in hand with the new government of the DPP to force thieves and looters of the MCP to pay back what they stole in government, are all quiet.
“It is sad while the MCP was busy stealing trillions of Kwachas depositing into foreign accounts, people back home were eating wild bushes (chitedze) as food for their survivals,” said the source.
He said Malawians on the 16th September, 2025 elections voted overwhelmingly for Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to liberate the country from MCP and President Chakwera dictatorial leadership with trust that all the MCP thieves and looters will by this December, 2025 lost their property and paying back what they stole from Malawians but to this date, nothing to write about.
The citizen has now concluded that politicians are birds of a feather flocking together beside them being in government and opposition assuring authorities that God will be the one to fight for the plight of poor Malawians so that the country is fully liberated from thieves and looters who are mostly politicians.
He has finally said Malawi politicians are cursed and they are presiding over a cursed nation and it is no wonder that the president budget for personal clothes is K14 billion meaning that one shirt is costing K1 million yet, many citizens in the country are sleeping with empty stomachs.
