Bakili Muluzi TV online television station has removed Public Servants Pension Trust Fund Chief chairperson Chizaso Nyirongo out of those who overcharged the sale of Amaryllis Hotel from K33 billion to K128 billion.
Bakili Muluzi TV said Chizaso Nyirongo, though he is a close associate of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and Colleen Zamba, he was appointed to that position in June, 2025 when the whole theft of public resources was already completed.
He said he is the one who called for a forensic investigations at the Pension Trust Fund and this led to billions and billions of Kwachas reported to have gone into the pockets MCP politicians and senior government officials.
Bakili Muluzi TV said in 2023 after failing to buy Amaryllis Hotel, they bought Dr. Saulosi Chilima- Sigerege Hotel at undisclosed billions of Kwachas and to this day, nobody knows how much money was spent.
The activist said the MCP is still quiet, claiming that billions of Kwachas have been spent for the unfinished Hotel questioning it for how long they will continue to be quiet?
He said in 2024 there was no Board of trustees saying this made Colleen Zamba and his brother George Jimu to start building their own Cresta hotel in Blantyre using the Pension Trust Fund.
” The hotel is in its old ruins, the building has not even reached 50 percent completion but already K145 billion was spent,’ said Bakili Muluzi TV.
He said it is heart breaking to learn that the Pension Trust Fund was allegedly used by Colleen Zamba to buy T- shits for MCP youth attending to its rallies while they were drinking maheu and on the other side pensioners were moving up and down capital hill corridors for no assistance.
