A Malawi Congress Party ( MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has called on President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to address concerns which are being faced by those who fought courageously for him and the DPP to be in government today.
Kamphangala said these people sacrificed their lives to die for the liberation of the country by making sure that besides threats of death they were facing, MCP President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is out of government on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
He said it is sad to be hearing from Comrade Ntanyiwa and Bakili Muluzi TV that six months have gone with Mutharika in government but at no time he has arranged a meeting of thanking them that they are alive today with thanks to the change of government.
The MCP diehard has told President Professor Mutharika that these activists have now started speaking meaning that something is going bad in Mutharika’s led government demanding him to address their concerns in as soon as yesterday.
He has reminded President Professor Mutharika that after winning government in June, 2020 President Chakwera forgotten those who fought for him to be in government such as Hon. Alex Major, Silvester Nyoni, and others, he opted for new faces, today, he is out of government joining Major and his crew members in the opposition side.
Kamphangala said DPP is following the footsteps of the MCP by not addressing concerns which foot soldiers are facing describing this as bad omen, advising those who are blocking Mutharika from meeting these foot soldiers that they will learn a lesson that an angry dog is the hungry dog.
He said while these foot soldiers are complaining that DPP ministers have stopped answering to their phone calls, they are getting reports that some DPP ministers have found their way employing 107 and 29 people from their constituencies into government.
The MCP diehard said what these DPP ministers are doing is sending the message clear that President Professor Mutharika’s austerity measures of not employing new people in government, are just to block foot soldiers from getting into government.
The MCP diehard said DPP ministers have employed their children and girl friends into government people who were insulting Mutharika for his old age leaving out those who fought a good war for DPP to be in government today.
”It is not fair, you told foot soldiers to wait while DPP ministers are employimg those who were at the top insulting Mutharika,” said Kamphangala.
He has warned President Professor Mutharika and the DPP that these genuine activists Hon. Kamlepo Kalua, Dr. Samuel Lwara, Bishop Kachenje, Pastor Moses Shumba, Comrade Ntanyiwa, Comrade Jumbe, Lytone Mangochi, Bakili Muluzi TV, Burnett Munthali, Suleman Chitera, Jones Gadama, and others, are not fools, the DPP will need them in a quest to continue to be in government in 2030 advising Mutharika to treat these people with care, humanity and honor they deserve.
Kamphangala has finally advised government that not all these genuine activists can find their way into government but recognition that they courageously fought for Professor Mutharika to be in government today, giving them something to smile with.
