A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has told the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) that the leadership of the party has not been invited to a solemn remembrance of the life of Dr. Saulosi Chilima in Ntcheu on Saturday.
In a communication by UTM National Publicity Secretary Felix Njawala, he made it clear that all political parties in Malawi have been invited except for the MCP but members of the opposition MCP are welcomed to the solemn remembrance celebrations of the life of Dr. Saulosi Chilima.Kalindo thanks Mutharika for Chilima’s death fresh inquiry
Kamphangala said he has learnt with a great shock and dismay reading from reports that the MCP will conduct its own solemn remembrance occasion at Nsipe in Ntcheu on Sunday 14th June, 2026 on the argument that Dr. Chilima was Vice President of the Tonse Alliance government.
He said the decision reached by the MCP is speaking for itself that there are some people within the MCP who are doing what they can for the MCP to be turned into a laughing stock of the world.

He said the MCP has invited the MCP to conduct Dr. Saulosi Chilima’s remembrance day at Nsipe in Ntcheu not family members inviting them to attend describing this as putting the record straight that the MCP is full of educated idiots.

He has reminded the MCP that the mandate for President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to run the party as MCP President ended with the 16th September, 2025 elections loss to Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
The MCP diehard has claimed that Chakwera is holding the position of MCP President illegally because the party’s Constitution do not have a clause for Life Presidency.

The MCP diehard has told all MCP peace – loving members to accept two things: that they are out of government and not invited to Dr. Saulosi Chilima’s memorial function warning them that Malawians will label them as the ones who allegedly killed Dr. Chilima and eight others, in the Chikangawa forest.
