LILONGWE: Make Malawi Great Again Chairperson Dymon Banda has refuted claims by Lyton Mangochi that he has taken over leadership of the grouping.
Mangochi went viral on social media alleging he had assumed control of MMGA from founder Hon. Kamlepo Kalua, arguing Kalua “shunned the grouping” after being appointed CEO of Umodzi Holdings Limited.Kalua feels sorry with the passing of electoral amendment bill
Banda said Kalua’s new role had an impact, but did not affect MMGA operations.
“We were affected by his new role as CEO, yes. But MMGA is not a personal business. It is well structured and has an executive committee which is making it run and remain vibrant. We are very much surprised with comrade Mangochi’s sentiments,” Banda stated.Kamlepo Kalua says educated nation is national development
Mangochi’s post criticized political figures for abandoning responsibility for “greener pastures” that DPP gurus are enjoying.
Hon. Kamlepo Kalua supported Banda’s position.
“MMGA is there, running and in good executive committee’s hands. It has been long since I talked to the so-called Mangochi. I don’t know where, how I gave him handovers and ndipereka MMGA kwa iwo ngati ndani? It’s not a personal business,” Kalua said.Kamlepo Kalua urges DPP to be guided by the Holy spirit
Attempts to get Mangochi’s comment were unsuccessful.
MMGA works to protect the president, protect the presidency, and ensure good governance and democracy. The group is currently chaired by Dymon Banda with Cornelius Lupenga as publicity secretary.
