MMGA’s Dymon Banda Hails President Mutharika Over Kaluwa’s Umodzi Appointment

Lilongwe, Malawi – The chairperson of the Make Malawi Great Again (MMGA) movement, Dymon Banda, has expressed profound gratitude to President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika for appointing Hon Kamlepo Kaluwa as the new CEO of Umodzi Holdings.

In a statement, Banda hailed the appointment, saying it’s a testament to Kaluwa’s dedication to Malawi’s growth and democracy. “As MMGA, we’re thrilled with this decision. You can’t talk of Malawi democracy without Kaluwa’s name!” Banda emphasized.

“Citizens know Kamlepo Kaluwa is not an ordinary person, ‘Anatutumutsa Kamuzu’ – he made Kamuzu move,” Banda said, referencing Kaluwa’s past influence. Kaluwa is a co-founder of the Make Malawi Great Again movement, and Banda believes his appointment is a significant step forward. “Hon Kaluwa is a visionary leader, and we’re confident he’ll excel in this role,” Banda said.

“MMGA believes Kaluwa will deliver and achieve his tireless dream of making Malawi Great Again through his seat as CEO of Umodzi Holdings,” the statement read. Banda expressed optimism that Kaluwa’s leadership will drive positive change and contribute to the country’s economic growth.

“People across the country have emphasized the need to appraise individuals who did a remarkable job in transforming the country whilst they are alive,” Banda added, highlighting the significance of recognizing Kaluwa’s contributions now.

The MMGA chairperson also commended the President for recognizing Kaluwa’s contributions to Malawi’s development. “This appointment shows the President values Kaluwa’s expertise and commitment to our nation’s progress,” Banda added.

President Mutharika has appointed notable figures to key CEO positions in parastatals, including Kaluwa as CEO of Umodzi Holdings Limited (UHL), Bob Chimkango as CEO of Malawi Housing Corporation, Enock Chihana as CEO of Southern Region Water Board, and Gladys Ganda as CEO of Blantyre Water Board.

Umodzi Holdings is a key player in Malawi’s economy, and Kaluwa’s appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the organization.
