The 2024-25 campaign is set to be the most hectic yet in the history of Real Madrid with the team competing in as many as seven competitions.
These are indeed early days in the season with just one competition having officially begun. Yet, Carlo Ancelotti needs to set the right theme and make regular rotations a norm for the dressing room.
Changes planned for the Gran CanariaAncelotti set to make two changes in Real Madrid defence vs Las Palmas – report
Coming off an important win over Real Valladolid in their second La Liga game of the season, Real Madrid take to the field tomorrow night at Gran Canaria against Las Palmas who have just one point in two games so far.
As revealed by AS, Ancelotti is set to make big changes in defence on the night with both full-backs who started the last game set to move to the bench.
Indeed, the manager is set to hand starts to Lucas Vazquez and Ferland Mendy against Las Palmas tomorrow night.
Fran Garcia filled in for Mendy against Valladolid after the Frenchman saw a red card in the league curtain-raiser earlier this month.
With Mendy now available once more, he will thus come back in place of the Spaniard and look to dish out a flawless performance.
At right-back, the manager is expected to provide Dani Carvajal with some much-needed rest. The veteran has played 266 out of Real Madrid’s 270 official minutes so far and could do with rest especially considering the long summer he endured including a deep run into Euro 2024.FC Barcelona Announces Third Transfer In Four Days
As such, Vazquez will step into the starting XI at right-back in place of his compatriot.
While the two full-backs will thus change tomorrow, the centre-backs will remain the same given that the manager has no further senior options at the moment.
Jude Bellingham, meanwhile, continues to be out through injury and it remains to be seen if Ancelotti sticks with Arda Guler or opts for Brahim Diaz who impressed in his cameo at the Santiago Bernabeu
