Speaking at the event, Ndalama reminded the youth that their involvement is crucial in ensuring that as many Malawians as possible participate in the democratic process by registering to vote. “Your efforts will help ensure that more people will be able to vote next year, contributing to a more inclusive and fair election,” he said.

One of the youth participants, Samson Alisen, expressed gratitude for the knowledge gained during the training. He vowed to pass on what he learned by encouraging others in his community to register for the voter roll. “I have learned a lot, and I will make sure to teach others to register and be ready to vote,” Alisen said.

The voter registration drive is part of efforts by the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) to prepare for next year’s elections, with organizations like CHRR stepping in to mobilize communities, particularly the youth, to play an active role in the process.
