Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) president, Peter Mutharika, made a brief but significant stop at Bangwe Township in Blantyre this afternoon to address his supporters as he continued his journey to his home in Goliati, Thyolo, where he is set to register to vote ahead of the upcoming elections.
Mutharika, who is known for his influential role in Malawian politics, took the opportunity to speak with party loyalists, emphasizing the importance of voter registration and participation in the democratic process. His visit to Bangwe Township is part of his efforts to encourage people to register and engage in the elections, ensuring that every eligible voter plays a role in shaping the nation’s future.
Later in the afternoon, the DPP leader is scheduled to address a party meeting at Bvumbwe Trading Centre, where he will continue his political outreach, rallying support for the party’s candidates and plans for the upcoming elections.
Mutharika’s visits to various towns and his focus on voter registration reflect the DPP’s commitment to ensuring a strong voter turnout in the upcoming polls, as well as reinforcing the party’s presence across the country.
