APM Dumps Dalitso Kabambe, Wants Bright Msaka As Dpp President

Politics
Until just a few weeks ago, it was a foregone conclusion that former President of the Republic and President of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika had fallen for Dr. Dalitso Kabambe as his heir apparent and, therefore, the party's presidential candidate in 2025. But as they say, anything is possible in politics. According to sources very close to APM, as Mutharika is fondly referred to by his admirers, the DPP leader has recently been informing his closest allies about his decision to 'endorse' DPP Vice President for the Eastern Region and Member of Parliament (MP) for Machinga Likwenu, Bright Msaka, as his now preferred successor. Of course such an endorsement is not final. There are no tricks or shortcuts in becoming the DPP Presiden...

STATEMENT BY H.E. PROF. ARTHUR PETER MUTHARIKA, FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF MALAWI, DISPUTING THE ALLEGATIONS OF INVOLVEMENT IN KILLINGS OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH ALBINISM

What's Hot
I have taken note of the recent Press reports/newspaper articles in which the Director of Public Prosecutions is reported to have directed the Police to investigate Hon Dr Hetherwick Ntaba and myself on our alleged involvement in the killings of people with albinism. It is shocking that the manner in which Government wants to pursue this matter carries with it the same pre-2020 propaganda that was intended to discredit my name using the killings of people with albinism. At that time, the political goal of this propaganda by the opposition was to destroy the name of Arthur Peter Mutharika as we moved towards the 2019 Elections. As the President at that time, I decided to respond to those allegations by doing two things. Firstly, I set up the Presidential Task Force on issues to do with ...
