One of the country’s celebrated activist Comrade Charles Ben Longwe, has come out of silence calling a spade by its name that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has failed to govern Malawi observing that Malawians are poor during his tenure than the way they were with Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
Ben Longwe has assured President Chakwera that Malawians are feeling pain and suffering and when he sees a large crowd of people attending his or MCP rallies, people wants the K2000s which are being distributed as allowances and not good governance.
He has blamed President Chakwera’s advisors for failing to advise him that Malawians are suffering wondering what these advisors are doing at the State House observing that arresting opposition party members, church pastors and intimidating people will take the MCP to nowhere.
Speaking through an audio clip, Longwe said the term “Dictatorship” mean ‘’work for me or else will kill you,” observing that when he was in South Africa, he was being hunted for arrests, Warrants of arrests were issued for him and when he came to Malawi praising the MCP government, nobody hunted for him.
Ben Longwe said if Bakili Muluzi TV and Comrade Mtanyiwa joins the praising team supporting President Chakwera and the MCP government, the decision by government to use K5 billion to hunt for them can automatically be cancelled.
He has called on Malawians to resume freedoms in the country lamenting over government arresting Pastor Moses Shumba to spend days and nights at Maula Prison saying for this God is angry with Chakwera and his MCP government.
The activist said Reverend John Chilembwe’s vision to see transformed Malawi is not there observing that speeches which came out on Chilembwe’s day were of advising Malawians to work hard in their fields describing these statements as an insult to the farmers themselves.
He said Malawians have ever since been hard-working in their fields for no fertilizers, and fertilizer is being sold at K135,000 per bag reminding Malawians that for 57 years, a bag of fertilizer was at K20,000 and in just 4 years of President Chakwera a bag of fertilizer is costing K135,000.
Ben Longwe said he now understand why Malawians wants Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika or Dr. Bakili Muluzi to come back, Malawians are suffering under President Chakwera’s government whose priority is corruption which is moving at a faster lane.
“The well-being of Malawians is at stake, the way Malawi is today under President Chakwera in 10 years to come, what will it be? Questioned Longwe.
He said the MCP government has pushed the country’s national debts to K16.1 trillion from K3.16 trillion in 2020 where the money is going nobody knows saying South Africa and Zimbabwe manufacturers fertilizer but the Government of Malawi went to procure it in the United Kingdom’s butchery.
Ben Longwe has finally questioned the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) where it is getting fertilizers which it is distributing to people without gardens and activists are being called to receive as rewards advising Malawians to close Reverend John Chilembwe Day to solve the country’s man-made challenges.
