Karonga based rights activist Comrade Lytone Mangochi, has claimed that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has been preaching for 5 year’s empty promises making the entire population to lose trust in him with others nicknaming him a liar.
Mangochi has reminded President Chakwera of his promises to build Orton Chirwa Mausoleum in Nkhatabay and Mombera University in Mzimba district on the claims that the DPP misused the money meant for the construction of that university.
He said 5 years has now gone with nothing on the ground questioning him where is money reserved by the Malawi Parliament for the construction of projects in the country for Malawians to trust him that he is indeed a servant leader?
Speaking through an audio clip, Mangochi said he was shocked to see a Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Minister speaking on MBC Television that President Chakwera has developed the country and if he was not elected, Malawi would have gone to the bush.
Mangochi has described the MCP Minister as a shame and a disgrace to the nation arguing that the MCP has destroyed the country and the DPP was better off than the MCP saying this is why Malawians are praying for a return to proven leadership of Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
He recalled that the late Dr. Saulosi Chilima released the Public Sector Reforms report with recommendations but President Chakwera sat on it for 5 years and one minister is coming on MBC Television that President Chakwera has delivered, shame on him or her.
The activist has praised Vitumbiko Mumba as the only Minister in the Chakwera’s cabinet who knows his role of what to be a minister observing that had President Cakwera appointed him in 2020 on the first Cabinet list, President Chakwera would not have lost trust by his citizens.
He said in 2020 DPP was almost buried but because of President Chakwera and the MCP lack of experience in running the affairs of Government, DPP is being loved by millions of Malawians and is poised to win the 16th September, 2025 elections.
“MCP and Chakwera’s failures in government are enough for Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika to bounce back into government,” said Mangochi.
He has praised Police at Area 3 in Lilongwe for not throwing teargas at a group of people that came with a dead body and dumped it at the corridors of the station saying this is what is called professionalism, police officers had to run away instead of firing teargas.
Mangochi said Police Commissioner Dr. Noel Kaira was transferred from Blantyre to Luchenza for not ordering his men to fire teargas at DPP protesters who camped outside the station commending the police in Lilongwe for running away leaving behind the dead body at their premises.
He has finally advised UTM leadership to go to Chitipa for real UTM members to be properly identified claiming that some members are belonging to Odya zake alibe mulandu party while hiding as bona fide members of the UTM describing this as bad politics.
