Jumah calls Chakwera to fire Police Inspector General

By Vincent Gunde

President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has called on President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to fire Police Inspector General madam Yolamu and Minister responsible for Police following Mponela shooting on DPP members.

Jumah has condemned the attack on DPP members saying this has happened after three days the Inspector General of Police madam Yolamu invited all political parties in the country to the peace-talks a head of the 16th September, 2025 elections.

During the shooting in Mponela, a DPP bus was shot and torched in the process and by the grace of God, all who were in the attacked bus found their way out without being hurt and others were injured with AnaAchepa’s vehicle, glasses smashed.

Speaking through his voter and civic education campaign, Jumah said it is sad that the Inspector General of Police promised electoral stakeholders and political parties maximum security while she was aware that this was just a plan to fool them.

Jumah said Madam Yolamu lied to political parties’ youth Directors, time to hide the truth is over saying by lying to parties about maximum security, Madam Yolamu has committed a great sin in the eyes of opposition parties.

He said madam Yolamu had enough lessons from Mbowe filling station in Lilongwe where DPP members were hacked, DPP members beaten at the Kamuzu Mausoleum, AFORD supporters beaten in Mponela, MCP youth operatives deflating vehicle tyres of opposition DPP Parliamentarians right in the Parliament premises and Civil Servants hackings.

The MRP President said in all these incidences, Madam Yolamu and the Malawi Police Service (MPS) have been issuing statements that police would investigate but all the investigations have ended being implemented on paper with no action.

He said the MRP was made to believe that Madam Yolamu has learnt lessons from all the past incidences and will apply a second gear so that this time around she will be working professionally for the police not to be MCP Police.

“The violence in Mponela, Madam Yolamu has nothing to say to peace-loving Malawians, she invited parties’ Directors of Youth to a peace conference only to be lied,” said Jumah.

He said the violence in Mponela has made madam Yolamu to lose trust in the eyes of opposition parties that she can provide maximum security ahead of the 16th September, 2025 elections and she has been proved that she doesn’t deserve to be Police Inspector General.

Jumah said if Madam Yolamu and Minister responsible for Police are fired, the 16th September, 2025 elections shall be free, fair, credible and transparent but with these two officers present, the elections in Malawi will be of bloodshed.

He has finally questioned Malawians that why is it that are they fighting amongst themselves as if they are ruled by foreigners reminding Malawians that they have no other Malawi apart from Malawi they have demanding all to defend the country from the hands of the evil people
