A recent survey conducted in the Lilongwe City Center Constituency has revealed a significant lead for Hon. Peter Mukhito of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) ahead of the upcoming elections.
The survey, which gathered responses from 800 residents, showed that Mukhito commands 54.75% of voter support, translating to 438 of the total votes.
Coming in second was Hon. Gift Nankhuni of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), who received 333 votes, representing 41.63%.
The UTM candidate trailed far behind, securing only 18 votes, equivalent to 2.25% of the total responses.
Meanwhile, 10 respondents, making up 1.25%, remained undecided.
The survey findings indicate strong voter confidence in Hon. Mukhito, largely attributed to his visible development efforts within the constituency.
Respondents highlighted his involvement in constructing two bridges and an event garden shelter at Kauma Primary School as examples of his commitment to improving local infrastructure.
Many voters expressed hope that, if elected, Mukhito would continue to make effective use of the Constituency Development Fund to initiate more impactful projects.
The results reflect growing public trust in his leadership and a belief that he has the capacity to drive meaningful change in Lilongwe City Center.
