Karonga based rights activist Comrade Lytone Mangochi, has called on the DPP led government to freeze all of former President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s accounts and his retirement benefits to pay for the damages which have incurred at the Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe and other State Lodges.
Mangochi has described President Chakwera as a president who will be remembered by Malawians as the worst in the history of democracy and multiparty politics in Malawi that Kamuzu Palace and other State Lodges have been damaged under his full watch.
He said there have been presidents who once occupied state House such as Dr. Kamuzu Banda, Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Professor Bingu wa Mutharika, Dr. Joyce Banda, and Professor Peter Mutharika, all have gone to their retirement without damaging State Lodges.
Speaking through a video clip, Mangochi has challenged the MCP that as long as Mangochi, Bakili Muluzi TV, kalindo, and Ntanyiwa are alive, MCP will never rule Malawi anymore claiming that even the next generation coming after, will be told about the evils of the MCP.
Mangochi said President Chakwera is a shameful President the country has ever seen claiming that ever since reports of the damages have been coming out from State Lodges, he has not come out to condemn this act of vandalism but instead, he is quiet in business as usual that he is not aware.
He said the MCP is distancing itself from the damages at the State Houses reminding them that Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe was built with taxpayers’ money and as such, the MCP should apologize to all Malawians for the destruction of the State House.
The activist has praised Times Group for exposing that MCP is evil as evidenced with its members smearing faeces on the walls of Kamuzu Palace, damaging water metres, and vandalizing other equipment.
He has asked the MCP that they are demanding an apology from Times Group and its reporter Cathy Maulidi for what? Advising Times Group never and ever apologize to the MCP saying their time of threatening and intimidating people was buried on the 16th September, 2025 elections.
Mangochi has accused the MCP of practicing primitive politics observing that this type of politics has contributed them being voted out of government after only serving 5 years in office, this has never happened in the country but has happened with the MCP.
“You are demanding an apology for what? Times Group, continue doing a good job, MCP is out of government and it will never come back again,” he said.
He has appealed to Comrade Ntanyiwa of Limpopo FM to urgently work on the list of those that were occupying State Houses which include police and Army officers so that they pay for the damages by themselves with their Landlord Dr. Lazarus Chakwera not Malawians.
Comrade Mangochi has assured President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika that genuine activists in Malawi will not let his name to be destroyed by people who don’t wish him well saying they will be speaking for him to correct to the better.
He has finally pleaded with President Professor Mutharika on the need for “Head Count on all public servants that have been employed from 2020 under former President Chakwera warning him that if this is not done, he should expect trouble, government is full of MCP machinery.
