Lilongwe, Malawi – FCB Nyasa Big Bullets striker Babatunde Adepoju has officially become a Malawian citizen after receiving his citizenship certificate today, opening the door for him to represent the Malawi National Football Team, the Flames, in international matches.
Adepoju Now Eligible for Malawi National Team
With citizenship confirmed, Adepoju can now feature for the Flames. However, he is still waiting for a Malawian passport, which is a crucial requirement for international travel and official FIFA clearance.
The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) Communications Officer, Gomezgani Zakazaka, confirmed the news.
“Everything has gone well, and Adepoju is now one of the citizens of this country,” Zakazaka said.

This development comes at a crucial time as the Malawi national team prepares to travel to Botswana tomorrow ahead of their international fixture against Namibia on Friday.
While Adepoju is not yet traveling with the team due to passport processing, his availability in future matches is expected to strengthen Malawi’s attacking options.
