Nyusi Arrives In Malawi To Attend Opening Of 5 Youth Games

President Felipe Nyusi of the Republic of Mozambique has arrived in Malawi through Kamuzu International Airport. On arrival, the Mozambican President was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo, Minister of Local Government, Professor Blessings Chinsinga and Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba, among other Malawi Government officials. Nyusi inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Malawi Defence Force. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Nyusi is expected to attend the official opening of Region 5 Youth Games alongside President Dr Lazarus Chakwera this evening.

Office of the President and Cabinet has ordered the Inspector General of Police to impound government vehicles as a last solution to ensure there are enough vehicles for use at the Region 5 Youth Games Malawi hosts from December 2-11 this year. "Efforts to mobile the required number of vehicles through circular letters from this office have not yielded the required number of vehicles from government ministries, departments and agencies," reads part of the memo dated 28th November 2022.

Nyasa Big Bullets has signed a one-year partnership agreement with Precious Medical International for a Goal of the Month Award Sponsorship. Precious Medical International, Chief Executive Officer, Dr Gertrude Mateyo said they will be paying for the people's team's monthly best goal scorer award. Bullets Chief Executive Officer, Suzgo Nyirenda, said the club is looking for the best means to grow bigger than now. He said the club believes that the new partner will add the Goal of the Year Award in future. He further said they will set aside a special panel of four people to select and analyse the best goal for each month. Bullets initially partnered with CIC Insurance Company which sponsors the Player of the Month Award.

In an effort to enhance participation among primary school learners, Football Association of Malawi FAM has reiterated the need to incorporate sports activities in the country's education curriculum. Football for School Programs Coordinator, McWilliams Nkunika was speaking in Dedza district on Thursday when the football governing body oriented sports teachers from the Central West Education Division on the project.
