Senior architect in the Buildings Department, Christopher Lindeire, has assured President Lazarus Chakwera that construction of a four-story M’mbelwa Office Complex worth K1.8 billion, which commenced in 2018, would be completed by end this year. Speaking on Thursday when he briefed Chakwera during a tour of the project which is under construction, Lindeire said almost all construction works of the complex office have been completed. “As you can see, the whole structural elements of this building are complete. What we are largely remaining with are finishing touches, such as plater which we are currently working on,” said Lindeire. Frames Coache, Patrick Mabedi is today expected to name his final squad for the upcoming four Nations tournament to be staged at the Bingu National Stadium from the 23rd of March 2024. Mabedi who last week released a squad comprising of local based players , is expected to include professional players plying their trades overseas in this final list. The four Nations tournament Include teams like Zambia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and host nation Malawi who will also be bringing on board their U20 sides to compete with each other.

NOT IN FLAMES CAMP— Kumwembe and Chaziya A club-versus-country war continues as Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have not released players for Malawi National Football Team training camp, few days before the start of the four-nation tournament at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe. Flames coach Patrick Mabedi included seven Wanderers players in the 27-member provisional squad and these are Stanley Sanudi, Chimwemwe Nkhoma, Lawrence Chaziya, Wisdom Mpinganjira, Francisco Madinga, Christopher Kumwembe and Clement Nyondo. The Flames will face Kenya on the 23rd of March 2024 at Bingu National Stadium in their four Nations Cup opener . In other fixtures of the tournament, Zambia will face Zimbabwe on the same day before winners in the two fixtures, facing off in the tournament's Final on the 26th of March 2024 at the same venue. The U20 sides of the four countries will also follow the same route in fixtures and format during the course of the tournament. The four Nations tournament is a platform aimed at preparing the participating Nations an Ideal opportunity to put their teams in shape as they are preparing to compete in Continental competitions. The four teams to be in attendance are Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Kenya senior teams as well as U20 sides.

One of the country’s prolific net-busters Chiukepo Msowoya has retired, closing the last chapter of a career that spans over two decades  and spiced up with plenty of records. The former Flames international, who retires just two seasons after joining Mighty Mukuru Wanderers from FCB Nyasa Bullets in 2022,  is the only player to score over a  century goals in TNM Super League since 2000 and won the golden boot thrice. Civo Athletics Club Athlete Chikondi Mwanyali is the Champion for the 2024 Mzuzu Half Marathon. Mwanyali covered the 21 Kilometre distance in 1hour and six minutes, beating his last year’s record of 1 hour eight minutes. The assurance came during the FAM induction meeting with a five team member delegation from FIFA at capital hotel in Lilongwe.
