VP CALLS FOR PATIENCE

Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima has arrived in the country from the United States of America where he represented President Dr Lazarus Chakwera at the United Nations Economic and Social Council Forum for Financing Development.

Upon arrival at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe, Dr Chilima told journalists that the trip was beneficial to the economic growth of the country.

“Let me assure all Malawians that the conference that we just had in New York, has the potential to improve the economic status of the country and people. He said Malawians should just wait for a few months to start seeing the fruits of the trip,” he added.

The Economic and Social Council Forum for Financing Development is an intergovernmental process with universal participation mandated to review the Addis Ababa Action Agenda and offer options of financing for development outcomes and the means of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
