FDH Bank Cup Commence May

The 2023 FDH bank cup will commence on 6 May with 60 regional league teams meeting in the preliminary round to produce 16 teams for the National phase of the Tournament.

The draw of preliminary round has been conducted on Friday, April 28 at Chiwembe in Blantyre where 22 teams will come from South, 18 teams from Central Region and 20 teams will represent Northern region league.

Speaking after the draw, Football Association of Malawi( FAM) Director of Communication and Competition, Gomezgan Zakazaka says, they are anticipating a super performance from the region league teams.

Zakazaka added that, the participation of the lower league teams into the national competition of this nature provides a window of opportunity for the teams to expose their talent and prepare themselves for a big stage.

On his part, vice General secretary for the central region Football Association League, Antonio Manda says, he is excited with the draw expressing confident about the readiness of teams to display better football in the competition.

Preliminary round is expected to end on 21 May
and each of the qualifying teams will receive Seven Hundred Thousand Kwacha, Uniforms and balls.
