Minister of Foreign Affairs Nancy Tembo clarifies why the president is attending the meeting in America.

She says the president will attend the meeting in his capacity as Least Developed Countries-LDC’s Chairman.

Information Minister Gospel Kazako stresses the need for the president to attend the meeting; saying he is the one to lead the discussions.

He adds aside the LDCs meeting, Chakwera will meet with the United Nations Secretary General,

Kazako further says Chakwera will have talks with the International Monetary Fund leadership on the economy of Malawi
