Minister of Health Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda has described the gesture as an important push in efforts to ensure that Malawians access the Covid jabs.

While asking government to expedite the administration of the vaccines, German Ambassador Ralph Timmermann said his government hopes that Malawi will meet the minimum immunisation obligation of 10 percent.

Since March 2021, around 1.2 million (9 percent) of Malawians have been vaccinated with the first dose, while approximately 1.1 million (8.4 percent) have been fully vaccinated.
