Ndirande Police Nab 5 People Suspected Robbers

Ndirande Police in Blantyre have arrested 5 people suspected of being involved in series of robberies in the township.

It is alleged that the suspects were attacking people with stones and metal objects before robbing them of their valuables.

They are Mwabi Chirambo (24) from Matope Village, Geoffrey Ngwira (22) from Mtambalika Village, Joseph Zalangwa (20) from George Village, Yuduf Zumani from Matope Village, all from Traditional Authority (T/A) Kapeni in Blanytre District, and Emmanuel Chalera (18) from Khwisa Village, T/A Nsamala in Balaka.

A statement from police reads in part: “Earlier, some people lodged complaints at Ndirande Police Station after being attacked at night and robbed of their cellphones, cash and other valuable items.

“The station detectives gathered inteligence and on the night of August 12, 2022 conducted raids and ambushes that led to arrests of the five suspects and in the course recovered some of the stolen items.”
