RBM Says Malawi Should Embrace Change

Reserve Bank of Malawi Director (National Payments System) Fraser Mdwazika says as the world is going digital in financial services, Malawi should also embrace change.

Mdwazika is speaking in Lilongwe at the launch of awareness activities for business licencing using electronic payment channels.

He says migrating from paper based payment should not only be for big entities but also for small, micro and medium enterprises too.

Representative for Mobile Money Operators, Khumbo Phiri, says people are slowly adopting to the use of digital financial services platforms.

He appeals to government to take the lead to digitise all payment activities, including making on-the-spot fines digitally across the country.
