A group of owners of Tipper Trucks is asking the Ministry of Transport to bring sanity in the transport sector by stopping a growing tendency of mine owners that are now dominating the transportation of products such as quarry.
The group represented by Richard Kokoliko alleged to Zodiak Online that Chinese nationals have dominated the transportation of the products and they fear of being pushed out of business if action is not urgently taken.
Ministry of Traport Spokesperson, Ganizani Liwewe when contacted asked for more time to consult before commenting on the concerns.
Angered by the current situation, the grouping has agreed to write the Minister of Transport through their association, Tipper Owners Association of Malawi.
