In the early morning of October 7, 2022, the Station Officer and his team carried out the operation around Kamuzu road, Kaphatenga and Salima boma where police arrested the two and seized twelve 20 litre jerry cans, five 9 litre jerry cans, seven 2 litre jerry cans, fifteen 1 litre, twenty half litre containers plus extra seventeen 20 litres containers which were empty.

The operation has been carried out to decongest filling stations where fuel is in and to further restrict vendors from carrying out the business.

Police in the district are appealing to motorists to stop buying fuel from unauthorised vendors as the system may put their vehicles at risk.
