Construction of the much anticipated Salima water project is expected to commence following parliament’s approval of a report on the same.
A report presented in parliament by Minister of Finance Sosten Gwengwe indicated that the government through the South African Based Civil engineering company Khato Civils has managed to secure a loan from an Australian institution worth 300 million dollars for the project.
According to Gwengwe, what remains is the cabinet approval on the loan agreement which he notes will be done soon.
He highlights that the contractor has indicated readiness to start implementing the project.
