Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President responsible for the Southern Region, Right Honourable Dr Kondwani Nankhumwa, MP, has hailed the CCAP Church in Malawi for incredibly and positively contributing to the country’s social and economic development. He made the remarks on Sunday, May 5, 2022 when he attended the induction ceremony of Reverend Collins Maganga as the new Nthemba CCAP Church Moderator.
Reverend Collins Maganga was accompanied at the colourful event by his lovely wife, Lovenesss. During the event, Right Honourable Dr Kondwani Nankhumwa read the word of God from the book of Titus. In his remarks in the House of the Lord, the youthful politician extended his gratitude to the Reverend and the church’s leadership for inviting him to that auspicious occasion. The opposition leader was accompanied by Member of Parliament for Blantyre Bangwe, Honourable Orphan Shawa, DPP Southern Region party officials, councillors Lita and Chinthuli, and DPP National Governing Council (NGC) member James Chuma, among others. Also in attendance was the CCAP Blantyre Synod General Secretary Dr. Billy Gama.
Later after the church service, Right Honourable Dr Kondwani Nankhumwa addressed DPP members who accompanied him, urging them to work extra hard in strengthening the party at grassroots level. He said while the party goes to the national convention next year to elect new party leaders, what he is preoccupied with currently is to ensure that the DPP grows stronger.
