The Islamic Commission for Justice and Freedom has asked the Catholic Bishop Montfort Sitima to apologise for alleging that some Sheikhs are preaching to pull down the current administration.
Commissioner for the Organization Sheikh Shaibu Ajassie has condemned the bishop’s statements saying, as the man of God he needs to promote coexistence.
“We ask the Bishop to provide evidence and apologize to the Sheikh’s and all moslems for making false and evils claims,” said Ajassie.

The grouping has threatened to hold mass demonstrations, should the Catholic priest fail to apologise.
Bishop Sitima is alleged to have made the the claims during the national prayers marking the 58 years of independence in Lilongwe yesterday.
