There are fears that 212 street connected children may be withdrawn from their perspective secondary schools due to lack of school fees.
Minister of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare Patricia Kaliati made the disclosure during her ministerial statement delivered in parliament on Tuesday.
According to Kaliati k38.8 Million is urgently needed in order to settle the fees balances for the children.
In an interview with MIJ Online Kaliati called on all well-wishers to help her ministry in raising funds for the school fees, bearing in mind that these children have a right for a bright future also.

Currently, One Step Foundation, an Organization that looks into the welfare of the Street connected children in Malawi is having a fundraising event in City City, Capital hotel round about in Lilongwe, to raise funds for the Children’s School fees.
Moses Mwalabu Executive Director for the Organization, is leading the Fundraising team.
Meanwhile, Minister of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare Patricia Kaliati is expected to join the fundraising.
