WE WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN–POLICE
Police have now officially written the University of Malawi-UNIMA students leadership apologizing for firing teargas within the college campus last Friday.
In a letter we have seen, Eastern Region Commissioner of Police Miss Violet Magwaya says they will institute measures to ensure that the incident should never happen again within UNIMA campus.
She adds police value right to education and cordial relationship with the students body.
We have further gathered that police officers physically delivered their written apology to the UNIMA students.
Meanwhile, UNIMA Students Union Representative President Charles Dokera confirms receiving the written apology from the police and have since cancelled their planned anti-police demos initially scheduled for today.
