Mzuzu, October 30: President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has winded up his northern region tour by attending prayers at St Andrews CCAP in Mzuzu.
In his address to the congregation, the president called on the church to rally behind government’s developmental agenda towards achieving Malawi 2063.
“We must accept responsibility for not utilizing resources given to us by God. God expects us to be productive. I pray that Malawians everywhere must rally behind a common vision that embraces our arm, Malawi 2063,” said Chakwera.
Chakwera also emphasised on the need for the church to take a lead in dealing with problems which Malawi is facing.
“When we are faced with a problem, it’s not about what is government doing but what can we do as a church”, said Chakwera.
In his remarks, Deputy General Secretary for the CCAP synod of Livingstonia, Reverend Isaiah Mhone commended the President for a number of completed developmental projects in the northern region.
Mhone also called upon the president to ensure that the Affordable Input Program (AIP) that the government is implementing reach the poorest of the poor in the country.
