Young football players with Former Inter Milan and AC Milan Technical Director, Raffaele Paolino at the soccer scouting camp in Bingu National Stadium
Lilongwe, Malawi – Last weekend, Malawi’s budding football stars had a chance to showcase their talent at the soccer scouting camp hosted by international scouting agency, World Wide Scholarships (WWS) in partnership with local organisation Mpira Mmudzi Mwathu (MMM). The camp took place at the Bingu National Stadium, where over 60 participants between the ages of 9-18 were eager to demonstrate their skills.
Former Inter Milan and AC Milan Technical Director, Raffaele Paolino, led the two-day football trial, and the talent on display was impressive. The trials were a resounding success, with a few selected players being chosen to receive international club and academy opportunities, scholarships linking opportunities, and European trials through WWS.
WWS’s CEO Munya Maraire expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and quality of talent at the event. “We are thrilled to have hosted the soccer trials to help identify the most talented young footballers in Malawi. We believe that the youth in this country have a lot to offer the global football community and we are excited to help them achieve their dreams.”
This is a significant opportunity for these players to showcase their talent to coaches and scouts from across the world and potentially secure a professional contract with a team abroad.
WWS hopes that this soccer camp will serve as a stepping stone for young Malawian footballers to realize their dreams and reach their full potential in the sport. They aim to continue working toward creating more opportunities for the development of local football talent.
