DPP Youth leader Norman Chisale: Mutharika pledges to meet Malawians’ needs if elected

Norman Chisale, the Director of Youth in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), has announced that former President Peter Mutharika has assured him of his commitment to addressing Malawians’ needs if elected in the upcoming presidential election set for September 16, 2025. According to Chisale, Mutharika has pledged to prioritize the welfare of the people and fulfill their demands, should they entrust him with leadership once again.

Speaking at a recent DPP gathering, Chisale also issued a strong warning to youth supporters, discouraging them from engaging in violence. He emphasized that there should be no violence against anyone departing from the event. “As long as I am here, nobody should be beaten,” Chisale stated, urging for peaceful behavior among the youth and respect for differing views.

Chisale went on to criticize four senior police officers whom he accused of pursuing political agendas. He called on these officials to resign from their positions and join active politics if they wish to be involved in political activities. This, he argued, would uphold the integrity of the police service and prevent its misuse for political interests.

The gathering underscored the DPP’s efforts to rally support for Mutharika, as well as to promote peace among its members in preparation for the 2025 election. With Chisale’s calls for unity and respect, the DPP aims to maintain a positive image as it continues its campaign efforts across Malawi.
