The Malawi congress party is the sinking titanic.
Better late than never,” the resignation of Labour Minister Agnes Nyalonje from the MCP government is a courageous step in a regime riddled with failures.
For someone who once stood beside the late Saulos Chilima in UTM, this act reflects her alignment with the principles of integrity and accountability.
In contrast, Dr. Michael Usi’s decision to remain in a government that has failed to explain the tragic plane crash that claimed Chilima and others raises eyebrows.
“A man is known by the company he keeps,” and by staying silent while serving the same position of his late boss in the government Usi risks losing the trust of the people.
Dr Usi has become the man of two faces but he should know that not all that glitters is gold,” and political loyalty at the expense of truth often leads to a short-lived career.
Agnes’s resignation is “a candle in the darkness,” shining light on a government that has lost its way.
While the move comes late, it reflects the crumbling foundation of the MCP government.
As the saying goes, “When the walls crack, the house is on the verge of collapse.”
The people’s anger for solidarity of chilima plane crush will be loudest at the ballot in 2025.
“What is done in darkness will come to light.”
Nyalonje’s resignation signals that the reckoning for the MCP is near.
For now, let us applaud her bravery, for “he who stands for the truth, stands forever.”
