MUST and UNDP Conclude Transformative Coding and Digital Advocacy Bootcamp

The Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has successfully concluded a groundbreaking Coding and Digital Advocacy Bootcamp aimed at addressing the digital challenges facing the nation and beyond. The bootcamp, which ran for a week, equipped participants with advanced coding skills and innovative advocacy strategies to drive positive change through digital transformation.

The event, designed to empower the next generation of digital leaders, saw 40 students come together, all passionate about technology and its potential for social impact. Participants honed their coding abilities while learning how to leverage digital tools for advocacy and community engagement. Tadala Dzombe, the Digital Innovations Analyst at UNDP, delivered an inspiring speech during the closing ceremony, highlighting the significance of the program in shaping Malawi’s digital future. Dzombe expressed her enthusiasm about the high participation of young women, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that digital transformation is inclusive. “It is heartening to see so many young women pursuing science and technology. Your presence and participation remind us of the importance of ensuring that digital transformation includes everyone,” she remarked.
