In a commendable act of community support, Dowa Police Station received a generous donation from Kanjiwa Filling Stations on January 2, 2025.
The donation, comprising 160 liters of fuel, 10 reflective jackets, and 6 traffic cones worth K741,000. was presented by Yona Kanjiwa, a prominent business figure operating at Chezi Trading Center under the umbrella of Kanjiwa Filling Stations Total Energies.
The Officer In-Charge for Dowa Police, Mr Almakio Daka, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), received the donation on behalf of the police.
Expressing his gratitude, the OC highlighted the significance of the contribution in addressing the station’s challenges.
“I don’t take this for granted. This illustrates that we have good neighbors who find solutions whenever a need arises, which is a clear indication of a good working relationship,” he stated.
Daka assured those present that the donated items would be utilized for their intended purposes and encouraged others to follow Kanjiwa’s example.
During the presentation, Yona Kanjiwa, who was celebrating the new year and his 18th wedding anniversary, explained that the donation was a token of appreciation for the services rendered by the police and the strong relationship with the law enforcement in Dowa.
He hailed the police for their tireless efforts to curb crime despite various challenges and pledged continued support whenever necessary.
This donation not only alleviates the immediate needs of the Dowa Police Station but also strengthens the bond between the community and law enforcement, showcasing the positive impact of community involvement in maintaining safety and security.
