Lingadzi Police arrest four suspected burglars in Lilongwe

Lingadzi Police in Lilongwe have arrested four men suspected of being behind a series of burglaries in residential areas, including Areas 12, 43, and 47. The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat rising cases of theft in the capital city.

Speaking on the matter, Lingadzi Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Edwin Magalasi, revealed that the suspects were apprehended following a strategic operation by the police. The operation also led to the recovery of stolen items, including television sets and other household goods. In a remarkable discovery, the police also confiscated a hippopotamus tusk, believed to have been in the possession of the suspects.

“We have utilized our advanced investigative techniques to track down the suspects and retrieve the stolen property. This operation is a significant step in ensuring the safety of our communities,” Magalasi said.

In addition to the recovered items, the police also impounded two vehicles reportedly used by the suspects to carry out their criminal activities. The vehicles are believed to have been instrumental in transporting stolen goods and evading capture during their operations.

The arrest of the four suspects has brought a sense of relief to residents in the affected areas, who had been living in fear due to the rampant burglaries. Police have urged community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help prevent further crimes.
