The People’s Party (PP) has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing Malawi’s economic challenges, with the party’s Vice President for the Central Region, Peter Kamange, assuring people at Traditional Authority (TA) Chimutu in Chiwamba, Lilongwe, that PP is ready to bring solutions to the country’s current financial struggles.

Speaking at a rally held at Nankhaka ground in Chiwamba, Kamange reminded the gathering of PP’s past achievements in stabilizing the economy. He emphasized that during the party’s two years in government, Malawi saw improvements in key sectors such as electricity supply, fuel availability, and foreign exchange reserves. He assured the audience that PP remains prepared to tackle the nation’s ongoing economic hardships should it return to power.

Kamange highlighted that during PP’s tenure, the country experienced a reduction in persistent blackouts, an improvement in fuel availability, and a better foreign currency reserve system. He argued that these successes demonstrated PP’s ability to manage the economy effectively and positioned the party as a viable alternative to the current administration.

In his remarks, the party’s Regional Governor for the Central Region, Boston Phiri, declared that PP is the solution Malawians need at this critical time. He further stated that the party enjoys strong support across the entire Central Region, reinforcing its position as a dominant political force in the area.

During the rally, the party also introduced Frackson Chinpeni as its parliamentary candidate for the upcoming by-election scheduled for September 16 this year. The event was attended by party supporters and local leaders, who expressed their confidence in PP’s ability to bring meaningful change to the country.

As Malawi continues to grapple with economic hardships, PP’s leadership has positioned itself as a party ready to restore economic stability. With the upcoming by-election in sight, the party is intensifying its efforts to regain political ground and prove its capability to lead once again.
