Political activist Bon Kalindo has described Chakwera’s presidency as the worst ever in the country’s history claiming that he is surrounded by people who don’t tell him the truth but lies and no wonder Chakwer is a liar.
Kalindo said Chakwera’s leadership is a shame to Malawians because of his background from the Malawi Assemblies of God where everyone can woke-up to deceive him that everything is good in Malawi while things are bad.
He said for 5 years of his rule, President Chkwera has been deceived of development projects such as construction of roads, bridges, classroom blocks and Health centres and him has not followed up on the claimed projects only relying on his Minister to tell him what is on the ground.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said President Chakwera was deceived of the K7.6 billion from the Bridgin Foundation, K30 billion meant for AIP into the butchery and another procurement of fertilizer from the pharmacy.
Kalindo said even though President Chakwera was being deceived by his ministers, he maintained the same cabinet he appointed in 2020 meaning that he was happy to be deceived and he took no action until this day.
He said there have been calls from Malawians and even some MCP members themselves for a cabinet reshuffle so that new faces find their way in to replace those that are corrupt but this landed into the deaf ears of President Chakwera.
The activist has described Chakwera’s State of the National Address (SONA) as soda which is used to neutralize relish observing that he delivered half-truth of the projects his government has implemented for the past 4 years.
He said it is sad that Minister of Education for Higher Education Dr. Jessie Kabwila has been caught up in a leaked WhatsApp conversation against Member of Parliament for Rumphi West Yona Adadawiza Mkandawire for shaming President Chakwera on the claims that he has delivered in his area.
Kalindo said Dr. Kabwila was not happy for Mkandawire to speak justice urging members of the MCP not to focus on President Chakwera’s lies observing that it is possible that the figures are not so correct reminding them that politics is not about facts but perception.
“We should not be the first ones wasting our time talking about accuracy but looking on the ground development has spread to all regions, let’s not split hairs here, we have an election to win,” Cables have quoted Kabwila in a leaked WhatsApp conversation.
Kalindo said many of the contractors who were assigned to do the projects have up to now not paid for their dues and some of them have ended up having their property confiscated and abandoned work case in point, thieving by some ministers.
