Ben Longwe urges Malawians to wake up for their democracy

By Vincent Gunde

Human Rights Advocator Sir Charles Ben Longwe, has urged patriotic Malawians to wake up to defend the hard-won democracy which the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has taken it through intimidating and threatening people to keep silence.

Ben Longwe has challenged all those that are taking the country’s democracy as useless that Malawians will never and ever be watching them destroying it, they will fight and fight back to reclaim their democracy whether one likes it or not.

He said Malawians are in pain and suffering under the leadership of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his MCP government and will do all of what they can to make sure that nobody or political party to derail democracy in the country.

Speaking from his Hard Knocks University in anger, Ben Longwe said there are confirmations that age limit bill is going to be tabled in Parliament in secret at this juncture when the country is running on its own without President Chakwera who is nowhere to be seen listening to the cries of Malawians.

Longwe said even though President Chakwera delivered the State of the Nations Address (SONA) in Parliament, he was not there speaking saying this is why the SONA has hit a blank wall that most of the projects claimed to have been completed are not existing or are on paper.

He said Malawi has no President and has a leader who is Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who has left behind his job to self-claimed activist Agape Khombe to be behind driving age limit bill to Parliament through the window.

The Advocator said 20 million plus people in Malawi will set their eyes on three MPs in Parliament, one taking the motion to Parliament, the seconder and one to bring the motion on the floor to be open for deliberations and adoption into law.

He has urged Malawians not to allow a group of MPs who are believed to have pocketed millions of Kwachas including those from opposition benches to protect one man who has failed to run the country for 5 years through age limit bill.

“The nation is waiting to see 3 stupid MPs to bring age limit bill into Parliament, and the one bringing the motion on the table, we will see if they will stay in Malawi, we are not tolerating nonsense,” said Ben Longwe.

He said the MCP under President Chakwera in reality know that there is no way they can win the 16th September, 2025 elections and what they have planned is to bring war in Malawi and this age limit bill is the start of the war for them to continue staying in power.

Ben Longwe has assured Malawians that Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and Dr. Atupele Muluzi will be on the ballot come September, 2025 elections claiming that MCP has failed to run the country and Malawians will not give them another mandate of 5 years.

He said he had one year of praising President Chakwera and the MCP with hope for a change to the better to start listening to the cries of the people but they have failed, age limit bill by empty-headed Agape Khombe will not work and will not happen.

Ben Longwe has finally advised patriotic Malawians to get prepared for dates of demonstrations, appealing to the Malawi Law Society (MLS) to intervene in the Parliament which is illegally sitting from 21st May, 2024 and is bringing age limit bill illegally.
