Ben Longwe urges Malawians say “NO” to endorsing Chakwera

By Vincent Gunde

Human Rights Advocator Sir Charles Ben Longwe, has claimed that President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, the MCP and their supporters have treated Malawians like trees for 5 years observing that opposition members were being targeted with threats and intimidations.

Ben Longwe said it is not surprising that those that are touting “Boma ndilomweli silikuchoka” are the same MCP members that have made their fellow Malawians to feel pain and suffering as if Malawi is not their country
.
He said it is the wish of the MCP to see to it that after endorsing President Chakwera as its torchbearer on the 16th September, 2025 Presidential Elections, the 20 million plus population would join them in endorsing President Chakwera through “Boma ndilomweli.”

Speaking from his Hard Knocks University, Ben Longwe has advised Malawians that if they go by the wishes of the MCP to endorse President Chakwera, the 5 years they have suffered under Chakwera will be small than the sufferings coming ahead of them.

Ben Longwe said even in Parliament itself, dictatorship is at its level best because the endorsement of President Chakwera was already done claiming that Leader of Government Business in the house Richard Chimwendo Banda has powers invested in himself to threaten opposition members in the house.

He said DPP legislator Dr. Ben Phiri complained in the House that they are being threatened so that they are afraid of speaking the truth in Parliament that their constituents are in pain and suffering and describing President Chakwera as a liar.

“This is our country, we will not have another country apart from this one, we will not allow ourselves to be threatened and intimidated, we are in democracy,” said Ben Longwe.
He said the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) and National Registration Bureau (NRB) cannot in any way work together in voter registration exercise saying this is a clear evidence that the two institutions have endorsed President Chakwera.

The advocator said bringing in Smartmatic machine to transmit election results is another endorsement of President Chakwera claiming that this is the machine that has sent the opposition parties crying in Mozambique and the same crying will be heard in Malawi.

He said MCP preparations for endorsement of President Chakwera started a long time ago saying all this was done with a weak opposition under the leadership of Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa thanking God that he has formed his PDP Party.

Ben Longwe said the MCP has plans to bring in age limit bill against Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and after done with him, Dr. Atupele Muluzi will be next urging patriotic Malawians to wake-up and say NO to endorsement, say NO to endorsing President Chakwera, Malawi needs a Revolution for its liberation from the hands of MCP dictatorship.
