President and Commander in Chief of Muvi wa Chilungamo Revolutionary Party (MRP) Bantu Saunders Jumah, has described the decision reached by the MCP government to summon Ministers to go district by district to clarify the SONA delivered by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Friday 14th February, 2025 in Parliament as executive arrogance.
Jumah said the money planned for the activity would have been saved for other equally important projects claiming that these ministers will be demanding fuel and allowances yet, Malawians are hungry and the country’s economy has collapsed.
He said the Republican Constitution is clear that the President shall serve the nation on good faith and truth and if he lies, he is reliable to impeachment observing that the idea which President Chakwera held a meeting with the youth on the SONA is another propaganda.
Speaking through the Revolutionary voice, Jumah has questioned President Chakwera and the MCP that the SONA was already delivered in Parliament why ministers wants to clarify on the same to members of the general public?
Jumah said it would be a brilliant idea to invite all political parties and stakeholders to a one political conference to clarify the SONA reminding Malawians that bad things are always bad things claiming that from June, 2020 MCP has been the same, it is sinking and cannot be made to float.
He has asked President Chakwera to accept and confess that the country’s economy has collapsed and explain the reasons that has made it to collapse and the possible solutions to correct it for a better tomorrow.
The MRP President has also asked President Chakwera that if he is a true patriot for Malawi, he should institute lifestyle audit starting with himself, his Vice President, ministers and Members of Parliament (MPs) saying this will expose billions of Kwachas stolen and those found to be guilty must return stolen money to government,
“Statistics on the SONA are showing one or two people praising President Chakwera to have delivered a good SONA while 98 percent Malawians are saying President Chakwera presented lies in Parliament, so President Chakwera and his ministers are clarifying lies,” said Jumah.
Jumah has lamented over childishness and stupidity being observed in Parliament where honorable people are doing things that are not honorable observing that it is very disheartening to see members from ruling side threatening one from the opposition side blocking him not to speak.
He said MCP MPs are not understanding the laws of the country because they have power over the constitution saying no member is blocked from speaking in Parliament and he or she must be allowed to express himself reminding the MCP that laws will be laws regardless of which government, no one is powerful under the law.
Jumah has sided with Sameer Suleman as not wrong to stand up to speak in Parliament but Leader of the House Richard Chimwendo Banda took it personal and threatening him to have crossed the red line to be above the law.
