Political activist Bon Kalindo, ha called on the MCP government to accept that forex is at the State House, Capital Hill, and Ministers houses instead of searching in Indian shops, houses and arresting innocent forex dealers.
Kalindo said Malawians are all aware that President Chakwerhas been travelling globally with his bloated entourage taking with him forex to pay in 5 star- Hotels and allowances amid austerity measures he has been announcing to the general public.
He said none of President Chakwera’s austerity measures to control government expenditures has worked a clear testimony that starting from President Chakwera, his Ministers and senior government officials are all thieves and corrupt.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo said the decision reached by government at its meeting to go to each and every house of prominent business people searching for forex, is another wasteful decision the MCP is implementing to punish business people for the sins committed by themselves.
Kalindo recalled that from1994, there have been the government of Dr. Bakili Muluzi, Professor Bingu wa Mutharika, Dr. Joyce Banda, and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika saying at no time there were claims of searching people’s houses for forex.
He has described the decision reached by government to victimize foreigners, Malawian prominent business people for forex searching in their shops and houses as scaring the would-be investors expressing fears that shops and companies are closing for business in Malawi case in point, forex.
The activist has prophesied that between June and July, 2025 many shops and companies will close their businesses in the country leaving thousands that are were receiving low salaries per months and surviving on that, hopeless.
“The cost of living, prices of essential commodities will be beyond the expectations of Malawians and they will all rise up against the government,” said Kalindo.
He has appealed to the opposition parties that this is the best time to move together addressing rallies that the MCP government and President Chakwera have failed Malawians, the country’s economy has collapsed because of their thieving and corruption syndromes in government.
Kalindo said this is not the time to fear government but rising up against the government which has no welfare of the citizen at heart and what it cares most, are themselves, their families and relatives in “Boma ndilomweli silikuchoka.”
He has warned Malawians that the thieving and corruption activities which re being championed by the MCP in government will leave nothing in the country expressing fears that Lawyer Alexious Kamangirah, who has been exposing deep secrets of corruption in government is receiving death threats and even his lawyers are afraid of standing for him in court.
Kalindo has finally called upon Malawians to stand together with lawyer Kamangirah claiming that he has been left alone in the fight against corruption while the HRDC quiet with its leaders forgetting the sufferings of the people as MCP money is speaking to them.
