Human Rights Advocator Sir Charles Ben Longwe, has called for the need to have a forensic audit on the State House, Reserve Bank of Malawi, Ministry of Finance (Treasury) and National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) to see how much they have stolen from Malawians before 16th September, 2025 elections.
Ben Longwe has quashed the decision reached by the MCP government to audit Members of Parliament (MPs) on the usage of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in their areas saying the target is opposition MPs not that of government.
He said the country is moving without the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General since the departure of Miss Martha Chizuma wondering why with only 5 to 6 months before elections the MCP wants to audit MPs for the CDF.
Speaking from his Hard Knocks University, Ben Longwe has claimed that for 5 years the MCP led government has failed to arrest those who benefited from Zuneth Sattar’s corruption fund where billions of Kwachas were stolen from government coffers.
Ben Longwe has advised opposition MPs not to be afraid but to hold government accountable for all the gates starting with K30 billion meant for AIP, State House gates, Bridgin Foundation gates, and other corruption gates for the truth to prevail in the country.

He said most MPs have done nothing in their constituencies with CDF funds dismissing claims which are being made by MPs that ambulances and coffins are not development they can be proud of implementing in their areas and it is up to their constituents to audit them not government.
“Ambulances, coffins, buying suits for chiefs, motorbikes are not development MPs can be boasting to be implementing in the constituencies,” said Longwe.
Commenting on President Chakwera’s attendance on 3rd March, commemorations of the fallen heroes in Nkhatabay, Ben Longwe said the commemorations did not attract many people as used to be for the previous years’ claiming that people have lost trust with President Chakwera as he has proved himself to be a liar.
