A power struggle is brewing within the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) as Presidential Spokesperson Shadrick Namalomba and Presidential Bodyguard Norman Chisale are reportedly boasting about their indispensability to the party’s leader, Peter Mutharika.
According to sources within the party, Namalomba and Chisale have been blocking access to Mutharika, making it difficult for other party members to meet with the former president.
The duo is said to be backing Mutharika’s presidential bid despite concerns about his ability to lead due to his advanced age.
Namalomba and Chisale’s grip on power has raised eyebrows within the party, with some members expressing frustration about their inability to access Mutharika.
The duo’s influence has also sparked concerns about the direction of the party and the potential consequences of Mutharika’s continued leadership.
