A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has reminded President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera that former President Dr. Joyce Banda is still waiting for a response from her query of K23 million trip to South Africa.
Kamphangala said Dr. Joyce Banda demanded an explanation that according to her entitlement as former President, she is accompanied by an officer to where she is getting medical treatment and the trip to South Africa costed K4 million but that was inflated to k23 million.
Dr. Joyce Banda claimed to have paid R1,500 which was K4 million from her personal money for the officer to accompany her as government did not pay K23 million and this complaint was forwarded to government but to this day, there is no response.
Kamphangala said the issue of Madam Dr. Joyce Banda is just a tip of an iceberg proving to itself that MCP is not only a shameful government but a wasteful government the country has ever had since the dawn of multiparty politics and democracy in 1994.
He said from K4 million to K23 million budget to South Africa is putting the record straight that MCP came into government not for servant leadership but to steal and this is not surprising that some ministers and senior government officials have been turned into billionaires over a night.
The MCP diehard has demanded a lifestyle forensic audit starting from State House, ministers, senior government officials and other officers to investigate how much the MCP has stolen from Malawians questioning President Chakwera on why he has taken long not to respond to Dr. Joyce Banda’s query.
Kamphangala has also demanded an interim government to be formed in Malawi in June, 2025 to oversee the General Elections on 16th September, 2025 urging Malawians including MCP patriotic members and supporters not to allow President Chakwera and his government proceeding June, 2025.
He said the free for all money in MCP has proved it all that Malawi is not a poor country but politicians are the ones who have made it poor case in point is MCP thieving in government describing this as a shame to all MCP members that are clapping hands after receiving K2000s for attending MCP rallies.
Kamphangala has also asked for the second time President Chakwera that since he withdrew his half-trust SONA why he is failing to go back to Parliament to clarify his SONA and present a new SONA reflecting the truth on the ground as to what his government has implemented in 5 years?
“Instead of clarifying SONA to parliamentarians, you are busy engaging the same SONA to the youth giving them K200,000 each, for what purpose, is it transport reimbursement or a bribe to support your SONA? Questioned Kamphangala.
He said if Malawi had a Constitution for the people, the country could have gone for the General Elections on the 21st May, 2024 but because the country has a constitution driven by politicians, they extended the elections to 16th September, 2025 for MPs to stay in office for 6 years and 5 years for President Chakwera.
Kamphangala has finally advised Malawians that the country has no government and Parliament as from 21st May, 2024 and as such, let the country have a lifestyle forensic audit for all those that have stolen from Malawians to pay the price before 16th September, 2025 General Elections.
