Blue Eagles player Blessings Tembo has announced his retirement from football.

This follows his appointment as an assistant coach for the team.

Tembo was one of the most experienced players and had a remarkable record in football.

He gained prominence while playing for various teams in the TNM Super League.

He once served as the captain of Silver Strikers and Civil Service United.

This leadership role gave him the opportunity to guide young players and teach them football skills.

Tembo stated that the decision to retire was difficult but necessary at this stage of his life.

He said he wants to use the knowledge he has gained in his football career to help other players.

He has played football for 18 years and has cemented his legacy as one of the best midfielders.

Throughout his career, he played for various teams, including Kamuzu Barracks Youth, Bucks Pirates, and Mighty Wanderers.

In every team he played for, he was committed to providing support and ensuring the success of his squad.

At Blue Eagles, where he concluded his playing career, he was one of the most reliable players.

His teammates say they will greatly miss him because he was a great leader and a mentor to young players.

Football authorities in Malawi believe that his new coaching role will help improve the sport in the country.

The Minister of Sports has acknowledged and appreciated Tembo’s contribution over the years.

Malawian football needs people like him—those with both skill and a passion for developing the game.

Tembo has assured that he will remain involved in football, even though he is no longer playing.

He has now begun his new role as a coach and is determined to help young players build a bright future.

In his final remarks, he said, “Football has given me a life, and now I want to pass on my knowledge to others.”
