Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President and former Head of State, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has extended his heartfelt Eid Mubarak wishes to all Muslims in Malawi and across the world.

In a message posted on his WhatsApp page, Mutharika expressed his best wishes to the Muslim community as they celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr, a significant day that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

He acknowledged the joy and gratitude that comes with this sacred occasion, emphasizing the importance of giving thanks to Allah (SWT) for His countless blessings.

Mutharika noted that Eid-ul-Fitr is not just a celebration but a moment to reflect on the spiritual journey undertaken during Ramadan and to embrace the values of peace, unity, and prosperity.

He highlighted that these values are essential for the progress and stability of the nation, calling for continued commitment to harmony and national development.

The former President commended the devotion, self-discipline, and generosity demonstrated by Muslims throughout the fasting period.

He praised their dedication to faith and sacrifice, recognizing the strength it takes to observe Ramadan with sincerity and devotion.

Mutharika encouraged the Muslim community to extend the spirit of Ramadan beyond the holy month by continuing to practice love, compassion, and togetherness.

He emphasized that the values nurtured during Ramadan—such as selflessness, charity, and patience—should remain a guiding principle in daily life.

As Muslims gathered with their families and friends to share in the festivities of Eid, Mutharika prayed that Allah (SWT) would accept their fasting, prayers, and good deeds.

He expressed hope that the celebration would bring happiness and fulfillment to all who observed it, reinforcing their faith and sense of community.

Mutharika concluded his message by reiterating his warm wishes, saying, “Once again, Eid Mubarak from our family to yours!”

His message was received with appreciation by many in the Muslim community, who welcomed his acknowledgment of their faith and his call for unity and peace in Malawi.

Eid-ul-Fitr remains one of the most cherished religious occasions in the Muslim calendar, serving as a reminder of devotion, sacrifice, and the importance of maintaining spiritual and social bonds.

With leaders like Mutharika recognizing its significance, the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr continues to be an occasion that fosters inclusivity and mutual respect among all Malawians.
