Mutharika joins Muslims in Balaka for Eid Celebrations

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President and former Head of State, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, has expressed his joy and gratitude after joining the Muslim community in Balaka for a special Eid celebration.

In a message shared on his WhatsApp platform, Mutharika revealed that he and his wife, Madame Gertrude Mutharika, had the profound honor of participating in the concluding prayers of Ramadan at Balaka Main Mosque.

He described the occasion as a moment of deep significance, where they stood in solidarity with their Muslim brothers and sisters to mark the end of a spiritually enriching journey of fasting and devotion.

Beyond the prayers, the Mutharikas also engaged in an act of charity by sharing food items with families in need.

The beneficiaries of this generous gesture included families led by the elderly, orphans, and individuals living with physical challenges.

Mutharika emphasized that the act of giving was an essential part of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, as it symbolizes compassion, unity, and the values of Islam.

He noted that he and his wife felt deeply blessed and uplifted by the overwhelming joy that radiated from the gathering.
