Kalindo says Pope Francis has left a good legacy

By Vincent Gunde

Political activist Bon Kalindo says the departed His Holiness Pope Francis has left a good legacy which will be passed from one generation to another saying Pope Francis has left an indelible mark for his love to everyone.

Kalindo said the death of Pope Francis has not devastated only the Catholic Church but the entire globe claiming that he was loved by all religions as he was seen praying with the Moslems, Jews and Christians preaching the same message- peace.

He said Pope Francis death should teach Malawians and politicians good lesson, to live with their people in peace, with love, mercy and compassion saying people should trust them as good leaders and they will be remembered for their good work after leaving office.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has sent his condolence message to Catholic Bishops in Malawi and the entire Catholic community for the loss of their leader Pope Francis claiming that he was serving the true God.

Kalindo has asked Malawi leaders and politicians to draw a good lesson from the death of Pope Francis that he is being mourned today by many and they should question themselves how many people will mourn them for their legacy on the ground.

He said Pope Francis has departed the Earthly World with no record of corruption, inciting violence and thieving in government observing that his legacy is a lesson by example that Malawi politicians must learn and be remembered for.

“The entire World is mourning and celebrating Pope Francis legacy, I wonder if Malawi politicians will be celebrated like Pope Francis after death,” said Kalindo.

He has appealed to Malawian politicians that this is the time to mourn Pope Francis while joining the citizens who most of them are finding it hard to get daily food for their survival and many of these have no hope for a better tomorrow.

“Let no one fly to Rome-Italy to witness the burial ceremony of the late Pope Francis, Malawians are in extreme hunger crisis, the little money saved could go a long way towards procuring medical drugs in the country’s public health facilities,’ said Kalindo.

He has appealed to Malawi politicians to save the little forex the country is gaining for the sale of tobacco at the Auction Floors saying this should not be the money to use flying to Rome claiming that Malawians will watch everything through Televisions.

Kalindo recalled that during the death, funeral and burial service of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others, who died in the Chikangawa forest on the 10th June, 2024 some other politicians diverted money meant to support the services for their personal gain saying this should not happen with the death of Pope Francis.
